Lance Inc., the parent company of Hyannis' Cape Cod Potato Chips, announced yesterday that it has entered into a merger agreement with Snyder's of Hanover, the Pennsylvania-based snack food company most well known for its line of pretzels. The merger is expected to close this fall, pending regulatory and shareholder approval. What, if anything, the deal means for the Hyannis potato chip factory is still unclear.
