Wisconsin potato grower-shippers are split on demand for organic potatoes and spuds shipped under the state’s Healthy Grown label, which emphasizes low pesticide use and stewardship of the environment. Alsum Farms & Produce Inc. has found a new customer for the Healthy Grown brand in Piggly Wiggly Midwest, a division of retail giant Piggy Wiggly, said Larry Alsum, the grower-shipper’s president and general manager. In the two months the chain has carried it, demand has risen, Alsum said.
